How to get to Sudak

Map of Crimea

Sudak is small city located on the south of Crimean Peninsula (Ukraine) in 104 km from Simferopol airport and railway station. Simferopol is the nearest big city to Sudak. There is an airport and railway station at Simferopol. There are three ways to get from your country to Simferopol – by air, by train and by bus.

TRAVEL BY AIR

The quickest way to Crimea is by air to Simferopol (airport code SIP). Flights to Simferopol are possible via Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. There are many flights of different air companies from European cities to Kiev (Boryspil International Airport). The budget option to get from Kyiv to Simferopol is by low cost airlines Wizz Air http://www.wizzair.com/ If you buy above tickets in advance in 2-3 months, you can get very favourable price. The following European Air Companies have direct flights to Kiev (Ukraine): Ausrian Airlines  Lufthansa  Air France  KLM Royal Dutch Airlines  LOT Polish Airlines  Czech Airlines Turkish Airlines Ukraine International Airlines Aerosvit Airlines  Wizz Air
There are also flights from Europe to Simferopol through
Istanbul by Turkish Airlines. This is a longer trip, often with a wait of a few hours in Istanbul for the connecting flight, but worth considering if you want to break your journey and do a bit of sightseeing in the Turkish capital.

In case you need to have stopover in Kiev (Boryspil International Airport) to change your flight, then you can stay for a night at hotel in the city center of at Boryspil Airport Hotel. This hotel is located in 400 meters from Terminals B, F. The airport shuttle is available to get from Terminals B, F to Boryspil Airport Hotel and back.

Flying via Kiev may involve changing from Boryspil International Airport to Zhuliany Domestic Airport (located in the city), and you will need time for transfer and re-checking in. In this case, you can take a taxi (cost around EUR 30 per car). How to order a taxi? After you exit from customs and baggage claim area at the terminal B, you enter the airport hall. Just in front of you (in 15 meters) you will see the Taxi stand. The English speaking lady at this stand will help you to take a taxi. Please avoid to use services of taxi drivers who will ask you to use their services (sometimes they are annoying to catch you as a client!). You can also contact our organising team for helping you to order a taxi.

If you arrive to Kiev (Boryspil International Airport) and then continue your travel from Kiev to Simferopol by train, then the best way is to take an airport shuttle (cost around EUR 3 per person). The airport shuttle goes by the route Terminal B, F - Kiev Central Railway Station. It takes around 40 minutes (if no traffic jams).

Airport transfer (Simferopol Airport - Sudak). Our organizing team can help you to order a taxi from the Simferopol airport (or railway station) to Sudak. The cost of taxi from Simferopol airport to Sudak is UAH 450 (around EUR 45).

The cost of taxi from Simferopol railway station to Sudak is UAH 400 (around EUR 40).

Unfortunately, there are no direct public transportation (bus) from Simferopol Airport to the Tourist and Recreation Complex "Sudak" in Sudak where tango camp events will take place. There are the following regular buses: from Simferopol Airport to Simferopol Railway Station (cost EUR 1), then another bus from Simferopol Railway Station to Sudak Bus Station (EUR 3), then another bus from Sudak Bus Station to Tourist and Recreation Complex "Sudak" (cost EUR 1). This way if more cheaper but very long and uncomfortable because you are with luggage. Therefore, we would recommend you to take a taxi.
